Star of the show

Fairly productive day at the controls but I ended up with my head on the precipice again so logged off, drank another ton of water and read my book for a bit.

With Mum and Dad we later headed to my brother and s-i-l's house to meet Boy Wonder and give him his birthday presents. I was afraid he'd not think much of what I gave him but he seemed quite pleased!

While there I tried to photograph some – any – of the dozens of butterflies flitting about everywhere. Two huge buddleia bushes were doing a roaring trade. Along with spotting a Spotted Wood in a nearby tree, there were very many Red Admirals, two of whom I snapped mid-flight.

While Boy Wonder went in for a birthday meal no doubt, we drove to the Italian restaurant for a big old tuck in that I fear has quite filled me up.
