Kildonan
Today was a day of exploring. After a coffee in the morning we headed up the road towards Carradale, stopping at Kildonan Dun on the way. Main blip is the view from the dun, with Arran hazily visible in the distance. The first extra is the dun itself as we approached it. My mum had wanted to drive up this road, partly because she remembers visiting her Aunty Annie and Uncle Keith at Ugadale as a child and has very fond memories of them. We found we could see the cottage Annie and Keith used to live in from the dun, so that made my mum's day.
Next stop was Saddell Abbey (second extra) and then onto Carradale harbour where we had lunch.
After lunch and short stroll around the harbour we drove back down the road and stopped at Peninver, and the beautiful beach there (3rd extra). We strolled along the beach and then sat in the sun for sometime, enjoying the place and the peace.
Then it was back to Campbeltown and out for a rather disappointing dinner. But we haven't let that dampen what was a very lovely day.
