Balloon flowers

It was cloudy and foggy this morning with the occasional mist in the air, but not enough to produce any amount of moisture. By 11 am, the humidity was back again. The sun did break thru a few times this afternoon but was for the most part covered by the smoke from the Susie Lake fire.

There was a mandatory evacuation of the businesses on the west side of Chain Lake Dr today. I'm not sure why the ones on the east side (Costco, Walmart, Loblaws, Canadian Tire) did not have to evacuate, although I hope some of them closed for the day to stop people from being close to an area where there is a wildfire.

They have already determined that the fire started due to human activity in the woods. Someone had an open campfire, but by the time firefighters were called, the person or persons had ran away and left it. There is no official homeless encampment in that area, but it is a spot where the ones that don't want to stay in the official camps and shelters like to go.

The heat warning has ended for here but continues for other areas in NS. We just have the air quality advisory in place.
