National portraits gallery, Media City

A day out today with my friend JC.

We decided on Media City, she’d never visited. We purchased tickets to go to see the Unframed National Portrait Gallery exhibition centred around individuals who have made a difference to Society.

These included Nelson Mandela, HRH Elizabeth 1 & 11, Winston Churchill, David Bowie, Amy Winehouse to name a few.

We had lunch in the Banana Tree, Trini spicy chicken curry rice n peas for me & mac n cheese with jerk chicken for JC ….. very nice it was too!

After the gallery, which was like a sauna, we went into the air con cooled Costa for an iced coffee, followed by a wander around the shopping outlet.

To avoid rush hour traffic we decided to get a cold drink & sat by the quayside to pass an hour, there was a lovely, if a tad warm, breeze as we sat opposite the Imperial War Museum.

Eventually back to mine at 7.30pm, a thoroughly enjoyable day, depicted in today’s collage :-)
