Eda and The Lost Spells.

Today was the day for Jude to be out on a ‘play date’. Grace took her as she set off to Bristol for day 2 of Les Miserables at the Hippodrome theatre. Day one went really well apparently and a celebration was had after yesterday’s two performances so Grace was very late home. Two more performances today, we go tomorrow.

Having just Eda today we walked diwn to London Road and got the bus into the city centre. Our destination the Victoria Art Gallery next to Pultney Bridge. The upstairs is an open gallery/museum but downstairs they hold exhibitions. We’ve been to a couple before most notably Kaffe Fassett’s  quilts two years ago and The Masters of Montmartre last year
This summer through to October they are holding an exhibition based on The Lost Spells a book by Robert McFarlane and Jackie Morris. Eda loves animals so I thought she would like it and she did. (There is a fee for exhibitions but Eda being a Bath resident was allowed entry free.)

She loved the interactive listening where you could select one or more animals and hear how they would sound in woodland.
She loved all the amazing illustrations too. Extra collage

We went on for lunch at Dough in Kingsmead Square where there is a good kids menu and cater for Coeliacs (and the pizzas have ears!!) . After we had coffee and ice creams in Parade Gardens alongside the R Avon opposite the Abbey, so glad they no longer charge to go in there, lots of people were enjoying it. Here, after a fresher morning, the sun came out and it was suddenly hot again. Extra collage 2

We took the bus back, front seats upstairs!, and dropped Eda at Jude’s friends house as her older brother said she could go and see his gecko and frogs! We knew which house it was from the shrieking coming from the trampoline in the back garden.

Had a bit of respite and will go and Chris will go and collect them shortly.

Another good day!
