Mount Chocorua

Mount Chocorua (pronounced sh-CAR-u-ah)is a distinctively shaped peak in New Hampshire's Sandwich Range, and visible in many parts of Tamworth, as here (though hidden from our house by closer hills). It's often said to be the most photographed mountain in the United States, mainly due to a particularly spectacular view from much-traveled Route 16.

We had dinner this evening at my cousin Walter's house, which has a somewhat closer view--I posted it a bit more than a year ago. The peak also appears on a recently issued quarter (25 cent coin)which I blipped a couple of months ago. The coin commemorates the White Mountain National Forest.
