Edinburgh is a great place for three weeks in August with over 3800 shows, including music, comedy. theatre, cabaret, shows for children, talks and exhibitions and much more. Apart from The Fringe there is also a book festival, film festival and the International Festival too and with so much choice it is very difficult to choose what to see. Artists and performers come from all over the world. The High Street becomes crowded as people watch the variety of Street Performers, some of whom are advertising their own shows. This afternoon, apart from the usual fire eaters, sword throwers and living statues, some performers welcomed audience volunteers including children to help. A very talented duo wowed the onlookers with their strength and agility doing circus tricks.
The atmosphere is exciting but after a little while it is a tremendous relief to leave the buzz and go home to peace and quiet.
