Glastonbury

Decided today was the day to have a day trip to Glastonbury. We chucked an overnight bag into the van – just in case we stumbled across somewhere worth staying.

Had a cracking lunch of Vish & Chips – quite possibly the best vegan ‘fish’ I’ve ever tasted. Apparently jackfruit and tofu, though you’d never guess. I’m already plotting to recreate it at home. The cakes were great too. Honestly, with all the substitutes on offer these days, there’s really no excuse for eating meat, dairy, or eggs.

Then we stumbled upon what can only be described as the mecca of model shops – the sort that makes Paul’s eyes light up like it’s Bonfire Night. There’s an event on tomorrow, so we’ll head back before we head off.

On the way in, we stopped to admire a brilliantly painted van. Paul clocked the artist – the same one our youngest follows on Instagram. Turns out he’d been at Le Mans the first year she went. After chatting to him and telling him Jo follows him, he grabbed a selfie with us and sent it to her, he then gave me a T-shirt with his artwork on it for her… she’s going to absolutely lose her mind when she sees it.

And as if the day wasn’t going well enough, we’ve managed to find availability at a campsite that’s been on my visit list for ages – I’m made up! The fact it has a tequila bar may or may not have sealed the deal.
