Marjorie's ramblings

I continues with pantry sorting this morning. In particular I worked on all the old medication I have kept “just in case”! Sometimes it comes in very useful.

There are a few drugs I take on holiday “just in case” and that has proved to be sensible.

Julie came for coffee and we were able to sit in the garden. It was on the cool side for Julie, who is a sun worshipper, and perfect for me!

This afternoon I walked from home around the local roads and back across a field, just about a mile or so. I want to see if exercise will help to free up Aggie. At first it seemed good, but she is very sore tonight.

At the Hexham Photography Group this evening we heard from a group of photographers who contributed to a Zine about Newcastle winning the FA cup. They concentrated on the reactions of the fans, who went to the city centre in their thousands, both on the night of the win and then on the day of the team’s triumphant bus ride through the city.

The photographs captured so many happy faces. Beer cans were shaken and opened. Flares were set off. All the photographers went home stinking of alcohol and one had a sticky on/off button on his camera.

I was partly sucked into the atmosphere, despite being a Mackem*, but I’m also uncomfortable with the out of control sense of the celebrations. I need to think about it.

PS I had no idea that this was a special Blipday! Thank you for all your congratulations and good wishes.
