Puppaccino

Coffee at Cafe Frida this morning. We've started back there now that it is warm enough to sit outside on the patio. It had been months since he had been there, but Spike immediately recognized Mamadou's voice as the provider of puppaccinos. He waits with alert attention while Mamadou goes inside to fetch his treat...and his second treat. They have established a special relationship now.

Gail is attending a family wedding in England, leaving Bob to fend for himself. He just had cataract surgery on his second eye and said it was still a bit blurry but he was able to drive to coffee. We said we would be on 24 hour call if he needed anything. It's interesting how different people look without their glasses when they've always worn them. Tobi and Dan brought bags full of apples and we brought...tomatoes! We gave our share of apples and some tomatoes to Mamadou since we are finally getting some apples from our own tree. The fig tree is loaded with figs that look like they have a way to go before they get ripe and ditto the persimmons, but the pears are just about ready to be picked. Quite a crop considering none of these trees (except the fig) have produced anything since we planted them in 2020.

It's been pretty hot today (92F/31C) so we've hung out inside. most of the day. John planted some seeds our neighbor gave us. We have no idea what they are or what they look like but we are going to their house tonight for dinner so we'll be able to see what they look like in her garden.
By the time he finished that, he was finished with the great outdoors and I didn't even do that. A couple more blocks made, but I didn't like one of them even after reconstructing it, so it went into the scrap bag.

Off to make a caprese salad now...my contribution to dinner at Ann and Paul's. I'm not tired of tomatoes...yet. We have about six different varieties, all different colors, so it will make a pretty salad.
