Back in the Park
John made us a lovely brunch this morning before Grace went off for her last day’s performances of Les Mis.
John popped over to see his mum as she’s hurt her back sadly which means she can’t go with him and Eda to see this afternoons matinee performance.
Jude stayed with us and after a little bit of shopping for us next week, we stopped at Alice Park again, our third visit this week. Very busy being a Saturday but we still got seats in the shade in the cafe and I had an iced coffee while Chris had a ginger beer.
Jude played in the new park area and enjoyed the ‘silky as a feather’ sand as well as the other attractions. See didn't seem to mind being on her own too much.
The park is much more than the play area.
A perfect place for picnics, parties and sports on such a lovely day as today. There was a gazebo up for an obvious birthday party, great if you can guarantee the right weather.
We walked to the top of the park to see the pond in the wildlife garden. There is a secret path around the edges of it through the hedges. I was pleased to hear it wasn’t for grown ups! She’s done this lots of times with Eda but was a bit reluctant at first on her own. She did it in sections with me checking as she went till she was quite happy to do the whole circuit on her own.
Waiting to hear from John when they are setting off back. They will of course stop to see Grace at the end as we did last night. Something a bit special about waiting at the stage door.
When we hear we’ll start making preparations for tea.
I wonder what Eda will have made of it!?
