Surprise bloom

We’ve had thunderstorms the last couple of days. They must have convinced the prickly pear cactus that it was okay to pop a flower in August.

I’m awaiting the test results but it seems clear that I have a kidney stone. It’s excruciating, but this too shall pass (pun intended).
