A beautiful icon and some Everlasting Flowers.
The Feast Day of Saint Joan of the Cross.
Canonised in 1982.
Today I was grateful to overcome several inner demons and went to a good Eucharistic Mass at our Rishton Parish Church.
What are inner demons? It is not an unheard of term. You could Google it.
Mostly with me, they are aspects of my earthly nature that play on my selfish desire to stay in the comfort zone. Feeling downhearted, lonely or just lazy, or fearful, is not great. The hot weather has been draining and life has been more of an effort during this challenge phase.
I fortunately enjoy serving the Lord and I am grateful for our strong community of Church going believers here in our town. The option to follow Holy Mass online is still a good option if you find being in a congregation difficult.
It is a lovely, warm sunny Sunday.
23.4c in the living room.
The conservatory is much warmer with being 91f and dreadfully sweltering even with the door open and an electrical fan playing.
I watched Songs of Praise and it was enjoyable and very inspiring to hear women in the world of Sport speaking up for their belief in Jesus.
Paul has mended the shower which needed repairing.
I have looked after some plants and collected Honesty seeds. They are flat and I hope they can make new plants. The Calendula seeds from this year's seedheads have grown strong green leaves and I hope they can flower before cold weather.
White butterflies and Small Tortoiseshell butterflies have visited the garden and tiny pink moths seem to like flowering thyme.
I tried saving some Everlasting Flowers in a clean jam jar with a lid, but they went mouldy. Fortunately, I won't be doing that again and will keep these Flowers on a little saucer.
Thank you for kind comments. Enjoy today Blip friends.
