Our flat from the main house garden

We’re on the top floor of the building through the arch. The two windows look out from our kitchen over the extensive back garden of the main house.

And what a garden it is. We walked around it this morning before setting off. It’s huge, full of flowers, butterflies and birds and has an orchard and vegetable patch too.

And that’s not all. From the front window we look over a fine grassed area onto the Loweswater Fells. In addition there are extensive more natural areas of woodland and glades. We love coming through the gates and up the drive crunching on the gravel and reversing into our parking spot.

As you can imagine, upkeep of the grounds is never ending. Our landlords are always working at something or other with the house or garden and have part time assistance too.

We left at 11.00, arriving back in Kent at 8.30pm. Almost as long as the journey from a Scotland. The closer we got to the south east the thicker the traffic. The M11 was shut just before the M25 leading to a tour of Essex countryside to avoid the closure.

We’re in Kent for two weeks to carry on with finalising lots of stuff here
