The Survivor

When I picked my posy of cornflowers at Oscar's Patch two weeks ago, I hadn't realised that I'd inadvertently also picked a cosmos. I had thought it was just a frond. A few days later I realised the frond had buds.

Two of them have finally come out. There is a third bud, I'm not sure I shall keep the frond that long to find out if it will flower.

I took photos this morning, this afternoon and this evening. This shot goes against all the advice to photographers. It's in bright light. I like it.

This afternoon we journeyed again to Queens Park for the bandstand concert, the New Orleans Jazz Band this time. They were fantastic playing all the old familiar numbers with great style. Only five musicians but the sound system was amazing.
