In the Dutch Mountains

I lost a button of my shirt today
It fell on the ground
And it was rolling away
Like a trail leading me back
To the Dutch mountains
To the Dutch mountains
#The Nits

We walked the trail from Kerkrade to Vaals. A long stretch, but we took plenty of time to rest on our way. It has been a while since we walked the traject between the start of the trail to Kerkrade. The trail is a hundred kilometers long and connects the seven summits of the South of Limburg. The summit of today was on the top of the Schneeberg, Germany. Not at all in Limburg, but still. At the foot of the hill lays Vaals and that's in the Netherlands. We discovered on the small map in the guide that the Vaalserberg (322m) would be the eighth summit and isn't mentioned. The Vaalserberg is the highest hill on the Dutch mainland. At the summit is the tripoint of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. We will be there tomorrow.

The song has nothing to do with the name of the trail. At least, I could find a connection.
