Bath tourists

After seeing the family off on their holiday (about 40 mins later than scheduled) this morning, had my shower and got a load of washing out, we headed into Bath.

A bit overcast this morning and therefore cooler but by the time we got into the centre the sun was through and it was feeling pretty warm again. I had a few places I wanted to visit. There is a very good Boots here where I like to stock up and I also wanted to visit Holland and Barrett.
New Bond Street and Union Street were full of flags celebrating 250 years since Jane Austen's birth, like wise Milsom Street which we later walked up to go to Wagamamas for lunch. I’ve been a couple of times recently with Grace and thought Chris would enjoy it.
From there we went up Gay Street to The Circus and The Royal Crescent. That was our touristy bit and there were plenty of them around but I really wanted to go to a little shop between the two in Margaret Buildings.
I was pleased to spot Edgar Buildings today which features in Jane Austen’s  book Northanger Abbey, I’m sure I wouldn't have noticed it had I not been currently reading it. The quote about Bath featured in my blip is also from that novel. Unfortunately we know that Jane Austen herself was less keen on the city but they still celebrate her fully here.

The girls we’re very excited this morning getting ready to head to Scotland, thank fully Eda was OK as she had a bit of a temperature yesterday.  No problems with Jude I’ve added an extra of her last night trying out her walking boots by running the full length of the garden in just her knickers as you do!

Thanks for your good wishes yesterday, not too bad today just the usual cold symptoms
