Cactus flowers

Somewhat cooler day, thank goodness! Got the washing dried outside quite quickly even though it was cloudy.
A bit of housework and some shifting of hedgehog poo outside. Cleaned one of the bird baths and filled it up with fresh water.
We were going to go to Little Moreton Hall (NT) and Biddulph Grange (NT) tomorrow but I suggested a trip to Dunham Massey instead. It's not a long time since we went there but we love it and it's a shorter drive. Last time we visited we went in the house but we'll probably not go in there this time and explore the grounds and garden more than we had chance to do last time. Also, there is a farm shop I'd like to call in on the way home. We'll have lunch out and most likely at Dunham.
I have planned the Little Moreton Hall trip already so we will probably go there in a couple of weeks, certainly before the end of September.
I spotted the flowers on this cactus in our front porch today. Shouldn't be long before they are opening.
We have been watching Peaky Blinders on Netflix the last few nights. We saw it when it first aired and loved it - we watched the lot - it's surprising how much of this we had not remembered though! I wonder if it's just that first time around and especially with the first season, you are getting to grips with all the different characters, whereas on a re-run you already know them all so can concentrate more on the details of the story.
That's my excuse anyway :D
