Topless
Today the early mist soon cleared, and we had another glorious day. I walked Django in the morning so that A could accompany our visitors to Broxburn to return their mini-camper, and then drive them to New Lanark. I worked from home in the morning until I got to a convenient stopping point and took a bus into Edinburgh. It was a single-decker from Peebles, and was crammed due to people going into Edinburgh for the Festival. It's quite a commute for them, but I'm sure they can get cheaper accommodation than in Edinburgh.
In work, there was only our intern in the office, and after failing to reproduce an issue reported by an industrial user, I spent an hour going through the current draft of our intern's dissertation. Thanks to me she's taken quite an indirect route from the point where she started, and enhanced her work with ideas drawn from some unfamiliar parts of the subject, so writing the background is difficult for her.
After she left, I set another collection of experiments running and took a rather calmer double-decker to Penicuik. After picking up groceries, I spotted that the old kirk tower had had its roof removed. To judge from all the fresh timber in the churchyard, it was clearly needed a complete rebuild. When I got in, A was with another visitor from France. She's visited before and teaches English, so I got a rest from speaking French!
