Nerine masoniorum
Another of the autumn bulbs flowering earlier than usual. I blipped it on 19th September three years ago which is a more typical time for it. Only about 15cm tall, with grassy leaves, it's a very dwarf relative if the big garden nerines. I grow it in the greenhouse, it's hardy enough here but a bit delicate for the battering our winter weather might subject it to.
A busy day off. I did sleep long and well, which was good, so the day started a bit late but Meg and I were out walking with C and her Meg mid morning. Cooler with a strong easterly breeze, relief from the heat continues. Home to spend much of the rest of the day repotting almost all my collection of autumn crocuses. The cooling breeze blew through the greenhouse which has been too hot to work in recently. After tea I did some weeding in the front garden before spending an hour at pottery glazing some pieces that I hope to have ready for a couple of craft sales at the weekend. A good day.
