World Tour of Kent Day 3
Last night's accommodation was unable to provide workable internet.
Today we set off for The North Foreland to see for ourselves a place metioned in The Shipping Forecast. Saw the lighthouse and had a lovely barefoot walk along the golden sand at Joss Beach.
A little detour into Canterbury and then on to Folkestone, our main explore for the day.
The main image is a sculpture called Red Erratic by Dorothy Cross, created from a block of Syrian marble. It's presence here at Folkestone, where a great many small boats arrive, is very evocative, especially since the French coast is visible from the beach.
Folkestone has a creative quarter and is great to wander around admiring the creativity. I'm not sure what this 3-headed bird with nipples and a 2-pin plug for a tail is all about but its plaintive chick really pulls at the heartstrings.
