A sad day indeed

I was over in the west at the The Hurlet Crematorium in south Glasgow for the funeral of my ex-work colleague and friend Deb (Deborah or Debs was acceptable, but never ever Debbie) who died earlier this month from ovarian cancer.

Today was especially poignant as it would have been her 61st birthday.

I was Deb’s line manager for a few years and I can honestly say she was a lovely person, full of kindness and compassion, someone who always looked on the positive side of life.

Blue cornflowers were given to the mourners, as they were her favourite flowers, which I thought was a lovely gesture.

It was also a bit of a reunion, as many of my ex work colleagues attended, including Mark, who lost his wife to cancer a few months back.

Sorry, it’s a bit of a sad blip today, but I suppose it reinforces my thoughts that you must live for today, as you never know what’s round the corner.

Take care and hug your nearest and dearest x.
