Nicky and her Nikon

Early morning light

Gavin and Luke played 9 holes of golf again at 6.45am this morning. I did not join them as when I wake up in the morning I am very sore from the fall off the bike and I find I cannot move properly. I walked over the road to the golf course with Xena at about 8am as they were on the last hole, which is when I took this photo in the soft morning light.

Luke worked all day and Gavin and I went for a walk, I was in much discomfort and pain today so we came home and I took an anti inflammatory, I really dislike taking any form of medication but I was so uncomfortable.

After lunch when I was feeling more flexible and better, I played 9 holes of golf with Gavin - this will be the last opportunity to play golf for a while so I really wanted to play. As you have to use a cart on this golf course I did not have to walk great distances.

We took Luke to the station at the end of the day so he could get the train to Zurich and then fly back to London. We go home tomorrow and it is always so busy packing up the day before. There is much to do regarding packing away summer things in preparation for the winter, Gavin took the table and chairs from the terrace down to the store room and also washed and packed away the bikes in the storeroom - all won't be used until next summer again.

I have started packing but was also busy doing laundry and ironing today, and then I made supper and prepared food for the car journey tomorrow. We plan to get up at 3am...not sure if I will make that! It will be a late night with packing and sorting.

It has been a wonderful 6 week stay here, we have been coming here for 20 years and every time we leave there are still so many things we want to do - hikes, cycle rides and to just enjoy the scenery. We both feel so sad to be leaving to go home again - but we will be back!

In extras a photo of a particularly pretty chalet in the village.
