Step back in time
Had a bit better night's sleep. That may be because I had a good talking to by a friend last night. Lol!
It was a step back in time as I entered one of the old offices that I worked in. Hardly anything has changed, just a few faces.
I had to take a call from our old People Director about something I had left in the office. I told him I was struggling. I also came across a teams chat from my team and it made me cry. Life continues for them and they still have each other.
It was sorting out IT access to the systems and email I need for the business. We run through the project and the time commitment, there is also another project I will get involved with. This job will take me up until October, with a potential of this being extended into next year as well.
I sat there thinking what I'd left behind was far superior to what I was now seeing. I can't even help them get to where I was properly as another consultant is involved and I think different to them.
I had the five hour journey home then. The M6/M5 interchange was the usual mess.
There were more tears. My phone is silent, I don't get emails and no teams messages. From being the person who people go to, I am now all alone.
At least I can raise my first invoice tomorrow.
Today I am thankful for:
1. Seeing old colleagues
