Steinbock_Travels Day 50
A bit of a strange day, it wasn’t perfect sunshine for one thing. First stop was Ivalo for diesel, then a visit to Saariselkä, a ski resort for mountain biking or hiking. Unfortunately Mr S had lost the credit card, probably when fueling up. He drove 30km back to look, and I did a little hike.
He couldn’t find, so he fully canceled it. We got water, got rid of grey water, then headed south. There were quite a few reindeer wondering around the town. It was quite drizzly, we stopped at Tankavaara, a little national park, then did a pretty good hike there. It dried up fortunately. There were lots of old defenses from the Germans in WW2, very interesting, and there was a good view from the peak.
We carried on a bit further, struggling a bit to find somewhere to park for the night, but managed to get a nice spot at the river near Sodankyla.
