Decaying Tree Stump

I do like the shape and textures on this decaying tree stump. I think it may be a beech - given that its neighbours (still standing) are beech!

I tried to line it up to mirror the shape of the distant trees..not quite in line but close enough today.

It has had a bit of a sad life - someone set fire to it (the far side of this shot), the rotten interior has been a litter ‘repository’ and someone has nailed some planks to it to make a seat of sorts!

There was a distinct ‘agricultural’ aroma in the air as the farmers were out ‘painting’ the fields adjacent to the paths - see extra :-)
