Sgwarnog: In the Field

Fall

17yo and I headed to the Dales for the day, taking the train to Ribblehead before tackling the walk up Whernside, the highest peak in Yorkshire.

It was a cooler day, and the high part of the walk was in cloud, but still very enjoyable. I think most people on the route were doing the three peaks, so I felt a bit lightweight by comparison :-)  This waterfall was one of the attractive sights en route, with the sheep a bonus.

As we were up and down a bit quicker than we expected, we stopped off in Settle for a bit on the way home.

See extras for 17yo walking into the clouds, various steam and diesel traffic across the viaduct, and one example from the ongoing Settle Flowerpot Festival.
