Will it rain?

Yes, was the answer!  The thunder had been rumbling around all morning and just as we were about to eat lunch, we sensibly decided that the clouds coming in really were quite threatening and we'd be best to eat indoors, which we did.  As you can see in extras, Jack was obviously caught in the very heavy rain which fell for about 15 mintues.  Everyone around here will be so grateful as it's been so hot and dry virtually all summer.

I had some very sad news today about one of my oldest and dearest friends Becky who finally succumbed to her three year battle with cancer.  We had a video call on Monday so knew it wouldn't be much longer.  She has been so brave throughout and I really can't imagine my life without her in it any more.  We have known each other for 54 years which seems incredible.  She, her husband Steve and her children moved to Switzerland in the early 2000s and apart from a brief spell back in the UK, had been back in Switzerland for the last few years.  Steve sent me a text this afternoon to say her wonderful story was coming to an end and that they were going to toast her with her favourite Champagne, around her bedside, as she wanted.
