Bagpipe museum
I can’t believe I slept so long last night. I woke at 5.20 and put on a Slightly Foxed podcast about Muriel Spark and next thing I knew it was 9am. Unheard of. (I didn’t feel any better for it!)
I spent the morning researching places to go in the van next month and sorting social life before then.
Because we have no car for a while I got the bus to Morpeth to keep my hair appointment. A cut for £31 which took
15 minutes. I took my broken gold chain to
a jewellers that Ailie recommended. £40 - I wasn’t sure it was worth it but it is 18c gold with a diamond.
To pass the time till the next bus I walked to the bagpipe museum. It was so interesting about the history. We have a pipe band in Rothbury but Northumberland is known for the tuneful small pipes. I hadn’t know the Scottish Borders had pipes too.
Duncan’s son-in-law who has MND has been fitted with a laptop which he can operate with his eyes. However he has a suspected lung clot which he doesn’t want investigated because they’d be obliged to treat it and he doesn’t want that. It’s so tough.
