Rose at the RUH
Think I've blipped this rose before, but after 58 days at the hospital am running out of new subjects.
Was winding down last night when received a call from the hospital to say Dad had just moved to a new ward and they would get him ready for discharge tomorrow. No!!! Communication between departments is shocking!
So another night of little sleep after that late call!
After phoning the new ward to discuss the situation, N and I visited the nursing home to have a look at the room they were offering. Turns out it wasn't the room shown to me and my brother so was happy to accept it, even though it overlooks the tip. Had a long chat with the manager to resolve a few issues and was relieved to hear that she was pushing for the room to be ready for Friday, which she later confirmed was the case.
Then on to the hospital. As usual, Dad slept most of the time I was with him, but when he did wake I managed to persuade him to eat some fruit and chocolate so that was progress. Once again he enjoyed me reading to him.
After 3hrs with Dad headed home. Compared to yesterday's incredibly stressful day, today was calmer though I don't think I'll sleep properly until Dad is actually at the nursing home. Things seem to change every day!
One bus and a much cooler day, definitely not the forecast sunny 20 degrees.
Thank you so much for your kind stars and hearts for yesterday's stressful day, your supportive words mean a lot. Once things are more settled, hope to have the time and energy to start commenting on your journals again.
