Rainy Day

Well, we asked for it...and we needed it...so we had to just relax and enjoy it. No complaints here! 

The cooler weather has been really welcome too. Although not prepared with proper clothes for it, we have some vintage afghans and wool blankets and quilts to snuggle up in to keep warm.

And..snuggling up is always better with a good book in hand! This afternoon, I finished the book I was reading ..Brooklyn , by Colm Tóibín. I had chosen it in order to be ready to read Long Island, the sequel... of which I was totally unaware until I noted that a fellow blipper was reading it!  I seem to miss hearing about a lot of good books, so it is a good thing I  have access to so many other folks on Blipfoto who like to read too and have recommendations! 

The book I brought with me to read next was Anxious People, by Fredrik Backman...(extra) but just as I was about to begin reading it, I noted emails from my library saying that I now have two books waiting for me..(Books-on-hold all seem to arrive at the same time..never fails) and as those two will have deadlines, I decided to forego Anxious People  for now as I own it ,and it will always be there on my shelf lest I should run out of library books! 

My sister and I also gave in and watched some more CNN today and what did that get us? The latest news on the Ukraine-Russia non cease-fire etc but  also a lot of anger and frustration! This whole Trump - Russia - Ukraine situation is so upsetting!  Not something to watch before going to bed..

It is my last day here at the cottage for this visit, so of course, I had to spend part of the day packing and cleaning to be ready to leave when the boat taxi arrives early tomorrow morning. Boring......

So, it was not the most exciting day, and I know I am overstating it, but a rainy day at the cottage beats almost any day elsewhere! :))
