Lunch Time

We visited the father-in-law today who lives in Oakham. Main objective was to help get some jobs done, but I managed to sneak out for an hour to visit Rutland Water where the Ospreys were re-introduced. The Parents at the Manton Bay nest site have successfully reared three young. Two departed on their long migration last week, but one juvenile is still hanging around with the parent birds. The nest site is a long way off, so the attached is heavily cropped. An adult bird is bringing in a half eaten fish.
Ospreys are brilliant birds and an absolute joy to see in our countryside.
