Herne Bay Promenade
Thursday. An early start for me, I was determined to get out for some photography on my annual leave. I had planned to visit the south Kent coast near Hythe, but somehow the ideas morphed in my head and instead, I found myself driving along the northern coast from Westcliffe to Reculver and finally stopping in Herne Bay.
It was very cloudy but with bursts of sunshine, making for interesting light. I managed to get a few pictures I was pleased with before grabbing breakfast at a nearby Spoons. The first image here looks east along the coast towards Reculver, and you can just about see the two towers in the distance.
I also liked the second image, taken along an arcade of ice cream parlours and amusement arcades on the seafront: this cheerful old cowboy didn’t seem to mind posing for a quick street portrait. The rest of the day was quiet… I edited photos happily, and pottered about at home. Vanessa and Tara went shopping in Canterbury, and the boys were in and out all day.
