Sutton Bank Viewpoint
Another venue for a wheelchair ramble. Stopped off at the view point looking across towards the Whitehorse escarpment, Hood Hill, the Vale of York and Gormire lake ( just off to the right of the photo). Followed a poetry trail with 3 installations. One of which is shown in the extra. A bit bumpy in places for the manual wheelchair. Just hope the change of provider for the beleaguered hospital wheelchair service gets up and running so R can have a smoother ride. The little wheels at the front of his wheelchair are akin to supermarket trolleys!
The poem in the extra reads:
Take Flight
Launch your thoughts
to birdlore’s chattered realms
Where Winter altered
Redstart’s plumes
to Robin,
and Swallow would
dive deep
Into his pond
reflection,
surfacing with
Springtime’s blossom
blessings
Or wonder at
the more fantastic
truth
festooned from here
to far off lands
are feathered
lives
Our Turtle
Dove’s
‘turr
-turr
herald of
Sutton Summers
more often adorns
African Skies
