Last minute emergency blip as I totally forgot to take a picture today.
This one might even be more meaningful as it’s a picture of a card I received years ago. It’s from an old lady of Spanish origin, who moved to France in her youth. She rented out an apartment in the south of France where I spent several summers with my parents. She was already over 80 at the time and often complained about her aching hip. The French word is „hanche“ in case you were wondering.
When I had a cold she also recommended thyme to help against the cough and ever since I make thyme tea when I get a slight cough.
Well, my mum and her sent each other cards or little gifts for Christmas and one time she sent (me?) this card. „Porte bonheur“ means a door bringing you luck but it might also mean something that brings you luck. I never researched if porte actually has a double meaning this case, and now I don’t want to know as I enjoy the thought very much of it having this double meaning. And whenever I look at the card I fondly remember the elderly lady with her aching hip.
