Walking up Kelston Round Hill

With my friend M. Took 4 hours walking about 2 1/2 miles :-) because we stopped and looked at everything, the flowers, insects, views. It’s the highest point just south of Bristol, and has a distinctive clump of trees planted on the top.  Visible from great distances, so obviously when you’re up there you can see far,  this is looking south towards Wells. The thistles were one of the most plentiful flowers out there - I liked this particular plant, as there were flowers at all the stages. The soft white fluff that the seeds are attached to is just like cat fur, gorgeous to touch.
We sat on a bench at the very top looking west  - from where you can see the whole of Bristol, the suspension bridge, the Severn crossing carrying the M4, and right across to the hills and mountains in east Wales. Good to see that far, and good to chat with a friend and share thoughts and worries.
