Precious moments

We started the day with a plateful of Richmond sausages.

Tradition.  Like the Chinese to start and finish.  Richmond sausages for breakfast on flight day

Both of us did five. Yes. FIVE. Don't despair. They were little skinny ones

At ten to nine Tooli asked why I hadn't left for work.  Told her that I could be a little late since it was today.

I got her brother to text her and tell her I was taking her to airport.  Cue the tears.

At ten thirty we set off.  Got there at ten to twelve

We assumed the position. Two of them in the queue and me wandering like a lost soul up and down the concourse

It took forever.  The queue was 8 lines deep they started six back. I had done two circuits and they had moved three spaces

Issue was Arabic people returning. Two people were going to the check in desk to check in for 8 people and sending a child back and forward to pull one more.person up.  I think they thought they were helping by not having all 8 people in the queue but they were causing a jam.  That and the dog in the queue. No one knew what to do with it

An hour later they were through and we were upstairs to security and the now familiar hugging, and crying and why does it not get any better?

You'd think after two kids who travel around the world and stay away for month at a time I would be able to deal. But no. Am hopeless

We drove back down the road In.mostly silence.  I was exhausted and feeling a bit yeuuk

I went to bed when we got home and slept for a couple of hours.  Did not feel that much better.

Remembered that we were supposed to check the allotment on the way home at 730. Si resisted but I insisted.

Am glad we did.

Bloody squirrel assault in full on mode when we arrived. One was sitting in the middle of the beetroot with a whole corn cob in his paws getting stuck in round about it

This led to a harvesting of at least a third of the corn - they do look good  and a tying down of the netting and barricading with bricks

Another vaseful of sweet peas and cosmos and dahlias.

Then home.  To a quiet house
