A walk on the south side

Mr C thought it would be ok to use the car in the village so he dropped me on Pat’s street where I popped her Kathleen Jamie book into her letterbox while he got some food shopping.

I decided to walk home via the single track back road, down Cemetery Bank, across the bridge and sweat back up the hill. Only 2.5 miles. It’s hard to regain fitness. The blip is from the south side, looking across the valley to our house. You can’t see the valley bottom.

We packed the van for Traquair then I started “Reading Allowed - True Stories and Curious Incidents from a Provincial Library” by Chris Paling. I heard about it on Good Reads podcast.

We got a message to book our Covid jabs so I did that quickly as we can only go on one of the assigned days in October. At least that worked - it took me ages earlier to sort out my yahoo account which said “authentication to the server failed”. It no longer liked me but we are friends again.

The surgery directed Mr C to go to the pharmacy on Monday when he rang about his ear weeping gunk. We don’t like that the NHS has to pay our pharmacy Boots which is a US company not paying tax in this country. They gave him a spray and said to go back in 3-4 days if not better. Today he saw a nurse practitioner at the surgery and he has an ear infection so has antibiotics.
