Ramblings and Mutterings

Like the old times

Got my first invoice off today.

It wasn't long though when I got an email challenging my rate, this despite me leaving last night with what I thought was an agreement. It immediately set me off and there were more tears.

At lunchtime I headed back to London to meet with my young padawan as it was another Proms concert.

Checked in and then headed out to walk across London to meet her in Soho for dinner. It was cloudy, chilly and overcast when I left home, but when I got to London and started to walk across it was quite warm.

It was great to catch up with her, just like old times when you fall in the groove and just talk nonsense. We had dinner at a mainly vegeterian restaurant in Soho and whilst the food was good, service could have been better.

We then walked all the way across to the Royal Albert Hall for the proms again. It is a lovely walk through Hyde Park and we had plenty of time to just chill and enjoy it.

The Prom was excellent, Tchaikovsky's piano concerto no.2 in G major with the pianist Bruce Liu. He was excellent and so were the orchestra. The second half was another excellent Modest Mussorgsky, orch. Maurice Ravel Pictures at an Exhibition. It might just be the best Proms we've been to so far.

We had a great night and it was wonderful to have so many laughs. They are quite thin on the ground at the moment.

We said goodnight and I would see her again tomorrow for the cricket.

Today I am thankful for:

1. A great evening with my young padawan
2. A great Proms concert
