Really?

Today i joined my two friends and their golden, Brodie, in a fabulous walk up on to moorland high above Glen Devon. First we had to negotiate the traffic in the relatively small town of Auchterarder due to the golf tournament being held at the local golf course - none other than Gleneagles. The path took us up past a reservoir which was obviously well stocked with fish judging by the small boats dotted over its surface, and then we wound our way up and up until we came out onto open moorland with superb views across Glen Devon. Unfortunately it was rather hazy and so not perfect for photography but the heather was fully out and did its bit in brightening up the foreground.

The three dogs had a wonderful time as the entire walk was completely free of livestock and once we reached the top my friend had a very natty gizmo for carrying water for them and they lined up patiently awaiting their turn.. They then tucked into Bonios while we indulged in something a bit more satisfying - a bar of Aero each! I took quite a few photos which I will link to at the end if you are interested, but I just loved this snapshot of Cara - she was actually watching her chums but it looks as if she is looking at the path sign in disbelief, certain that she had climbed upwards enough! You can see a line of wind turbines in the background that run along the hill tops like a spine.

On the way back down I noticed a few patches of cotton grass and also lots of different fungi, including ones which could have been mistaken for animal droppings! I wonder if anyone can identify them for me? It was a superb day out and we will return, probably in the autumn.
