View from the churchyard

I wasn't terribly sure whether I'd actually blipped this view of the back of the High Street buildings and the Tolbooth (with its very distinctive towers) before, so I've just been quickly through my blips. I don't think I have.

Another slightly strange and disjointed day, but enlivened by a visit from ZE1christie and peerie Brian. We haven't seen Steven, or visited Shetland, since 2013. I left Shetland that year with the words "I'll be back". Hmmmm. Yes, I need to make good on that intention.

It was great to catch up with them and get their impressions of this part of Scotland. They've been staying in Embo and travelling around a fair bit. They've done an impressive number of miles on the rather crappy roads of this part of the country. We recommended a few places to go after we'd had coffee at Piper's. Initially into the Tain museum, but then out on to the peninsula to the lighthouse and various other places we really like to see. I'll be interested to see what Steven blips and will come back later and link to it.

For the rest, the painter finished up, and will come back in September to do a few tiny finishes. The front window from the inside in the extra. The gate man also (eventually) came back and did some finishing touches, although he too will need to come back tomorrow, but by then we will probably have gone. But he can finish off without us being here.

We're going to watch the England v USA opening match in the Women's Rugby World Cup. It might be tricky without curtains to pull across, but soon enough it will be quite dark so not a problem. We will also need to put the curtains back on our bedroom window before we go to sleep. We'll sort that out at half time. The rest of the curtains need to wait until tomorrow.
