Against the Light

I decided tonight to give the spotted flycatcher space in its habitat - it will crop but I quite like the moment with what I saw. The flycatcher brood were in the trees surrounding the pond and were shooting in at speed to catch the flies. Tricky and a lot of luck involved  in getting a flight shot but just standing there was really lovely to watch and a mindfulness moment.

I have just lost my entire blip for tonight and am now starting again but should have taken a screen shot. I did copy and paste but that has disappeared into the ether.

I was surprised to see this willow emerald - your surprise is in the Extra plus just for good measure a juvenile wagtail.
