Memory Box
15mins walk to the care home to finish setting up Dad's room then at lunchtime he arrived in an ambulance, after 60 days in hospital. Things didn't get off to the best of starts, in many ways, but by the time I left at 7pm things were starting to fall into place, though i do worry about overnight. He's initially there for 4wks respite, with the option to become permanent, though things are still on a knife edge...
Outside each room each resident has a memory box to represent their life and interests. In Dad's box I put his wedding photo, one of his wood carvings and items to represent his teaching and rugby career and his love of music.
I was provided with a very tasty lunch and tea, and even a glass of wine, so no need for me to worry about food this evening, apart from medicinal chocolate! Actually managed 8hr sleep last night, praying for the same tonight! Lovely sunny day and evening, 21 degrees.
Thank you for your kind stars and hearts for yesterday's hot air balloon.
