Another trip round the sun

Backblip because busy

I decided I would have today off work because I could and why not?  It's (or was, at the time of writing) my birthday and that was good enough a reason for me.  For a change of scenery, with Mum and Dad we followed the route of the old Great North Road to Dunbar to have a nosy around the reuse/recycling shop to see what there was to see.  Lots of electronics, books, crockery, quite a bit of furniture, some garden stuff and a few trays of home hardware and a few trays of tools which of course I rummaged through.  But I already have three set squares and a speed square, so I left the nice wooden one where it was.

We drove onwards to North Berwick to have a nosy around their reuse/recycling shop.  But the stock had changed a lot since my first/last visit, with no Ladybird books, no hifi separates, and lots of paintings I didn't like much.  So onwards we drove to the garden centre at Smeaton where bestie and I enjoyed lunch a while ago, and the three of us enjoyed a very filling lunch of thick soup and huge cheese scones, and then a wander around the garden centre.  There were several Red Admiral butterflies enjoying a buddleja bush.

Back at base we collected Boy Wonder from school, Mum and Dad went to his house to babysit until mummy and daddy came home from work, while I went home to deal with a headache.  The meds completely zonked me out for a couple of hours.  Boy wrangling over, Mum and Dad returned and we had lazy cups of tea and conversation.  A long and very overdue catch up with lovely bestie rounded out the evening.
