Goodbye

Today I walked Django through the Estate, where the wildflower meadow is still in full bloom. After washing up and tidying in the kitchen, I took a bus into work, just in time for a 12:00 call, which went on for the full hour, right up to my second call. Fortunately that didn't last long, so I could finally eat the leftover risotto that I'd brought in to reheat.

Once again, I was joined in the common room by PhD student Y, who wanted to talk, and then by our intern who said that she was feeling lonely in the office! It's her last day, and when we left at 18:00, she said that she thought she'd had the best internship of all her classmates, and she wants the next to be in the same area of mathematics. She'd said the same to И yesterday, so I don't think she was just being polite. Of course, four months living through a warm Edinburgh summer was a good experience, too!

I then took a bus out to Loanhead, where I joined A, daughter K and our visitor for beer and pizza at Stewart Brewing. The pizzas were tasty, but the star of the evening was the 1/3 pint of 11% imperial stout.
