Chuck
After a big swim first thing it was off into town for a restorative all-day breakfast at Snax and then to check out the art exhibitions at Summerhall. Image here shows the Sam Kissajukian show - small, just the one room, but plenty to like.
Some pay-what-you-want comedy at Monkey Barrel early afternoon - Celya AB. Billed as a work in progress but all the pauses whilst she checked her notes and decided what to do next really didn't make for a great show. Apparently it will be ready for August 2026. Erm, OK, that's a long way off and I can't quite imagine how stilted this was at the start of her run a couple of weeks ago. Some funny material in there but some of it fell very flat indeed....hmmm.
Back to my part of town and we made it out to see Life Of Chuck at the local multiplex. We both liked it, intriguing stuff, and really quite poignant. I've seen a few sniffy reviews of this but what do they know eh?
We stopped off at our local Indian on the way home with some BYOB and enjoyed some very delicious food whilst we made a plans for tomorrow and discussed home improvements in the coming months. Yes, interior decor may well be the new rock'n'roll, Friday night an' that after all!
