Between fen and mountains

A pretty corner

This junction of the alleys in the old village is made prettier with the roses and oleander. At the moment the summer visitors are wandering through the old streets appreciating the maze that leads up to the top of the village. When we first arrived years ago, we never seemed to take the same way up but you can’t get lost. If you go up, you have to arrive at the Maire and if you go down, you will inevitably arrive at the river. James and Peta wanted their revenge so we played this morning but they didn’t get it! They want to try again on Monday. A national company that had heard of break-ins in the village was doing the rounds drumming up business. After what has been happening in our neighbourhood, I decided that I would make an appointment for Monday. The new problem family were sitting on our neighbour’s terrace partying last night, obviously trespassing and their son was on another neighbour’s terrace yesterday afternoon pinching bunches of grapes. I phoned the local police rurale and they will see if they can catch them at it again tonight.
