Moss and lichen

I believe moss and lichen are signs of clean air so seeing this profusion of both on the rocks is encouraging. Living on the side of the mountain at 600 metres does mean cleaner and slightly cooler nights. I would not like to live on the plain where summer temperatures can be insufferable. We are back to normal temperatures for now, hot but not too hot. I walked up to church this morning to do some photocopying and administration. On the way back I noticed that people were playing tennis mid morning which is a sure sign that things have returned to normal. My neighbour brought her mobile phone around to change the battery. The phone shop had removed the old battery which was dead and on the point of damaging the phone. It was a fiddly job, but I had all the tools necessary. I watched a YouTube instruction video and then it almost felt like being back at work repairing watches. C. was not sure if the phone was dead but a couple of hours later I got a message saying that, after charging, it was back up and working.
