The cemetery
Just as Britain should never forget the contribution of colonial soldiers during the second world war, so France does not forget the contribution of African soldiers who fought with a free French in that war. This memorial is in our local cemetery. I went out this morning and it almost felt chilly. It was a welcome relief from the heat and perfect for a game down at the courts. Our friends, James and Peta, have arrived so we were able to make up a foursome for doubles. Someone from my school, has created a map of Europe on Google showing the scattered locations of our year group. My location was still in the UK so I sent him an email saying where I now live. I got a long email back giving me his life journey since leaving school. It was a very interesting virtual catch up.
