Amphitheatre of Clunia Sulpica

This wonderful old amphitheatre was built in the first century and is still used today for out door performances a few times in the summer.
The magnificent Cathedral is in the town of Clunia - sadly we got there on a Tuesday afternoon when entry was free so there were about five hundred people lined up waiting for the doors to open!  Far too hot for me to stand about in full sun.  We decided to go up to the castle instead only to find it closed due to renovations!  
Such is life!
The skies were grey as there had been many fires burning to the north of the regions.  So many folks lost their homes and a few lives lost too.  There were about 23 arrests of suspected arsonists too!
